Fall down the rabbit hole and join Colorado Ballet on an adventure with ALICE (in wonderland), the Colorado premiere of a ballet based on Lewis Carroll’s books. Experience a (wonder)land of the whimsical and absurd with beloved colorful characters including the White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat, Caterpillar, Mad Hatter and other exotic creatures as young Alice escapes the clutches of the wicked Queen of Hearts. Featuring choreography by Septime Webre and music by Matthew Pierce, performed live by the Colorado Ballet Orchestra, this ballet will charm adults and children in a theatrical extravaganza!

Season closer Ballet Director’s Choice will highlight the talents of Colorado Ballet’s dancers in a collection of contemporary ballets. The repertory will open with renowned contemporary choreographer Dominic Walsh's Wolfgang (for Webb), with music by W. A. Mozart.

Ballet Director's Choice will then feature two pas de deuxs by two exceptional choreographers: It's Not a Cry by choreographer Amy Seiwert, set to Jeff Buckley’s recording of Leonard Cohen’s "Hallelujah"; and Light Rain choreographer by Gerald Arpino, which was has been The Joffrey Ballet’s signature piece since its premiere in 1981.

The production will close with the world premiere of the tango-inspired ballet The Angel of Buenos Aires by choreographer and Colorado Ballet's Ballet Mistress Lorita Travaglia. The ballet will feature music by Piazzolla.

Season closer Ballet Director’s Choice will highlight the talents of Colorado Ballet’s dancers in a collection of contemporary premieres. Renowned contemporary choreographer Dominic Walsh will be doing a work for the Company. Walsh is a former Principal Dancer and Choreographer with Houston Ballet and founder of contemporary ballet company, Dominic Walsh Dance Theater.

The repertory will also include the premiere of a tango-inspired ballet by choreographer and Colorado Ballet's Ballet Mistress Lorita Travaglia. In addition to her work as Colorado Ballet, Travaglia is the Creative Director of Parasol Arts, a non-profit organization that takes inspiration from the art of Argentine Tango. The production will include a third work to be announced at another date.
